Picturesque Mekedatu is near Brahma Kundam, where Sri Swamiji was born. It is in Kanakapura Taluk of Bengaluru district in Karnataka, India, amidst the Sahyadri hills at the confluence of three rivers, Kaveri, Arkavati, and Guptagamini, near the Sangameswara temple.

 

A Siva Lingam found at the spot where Sri Swamiji's home was situated, gave the ashram the name Datta Kasi. The Dattatreya temple has shrines also for Panchamukha Anjaneya, Ganapathy, Vana Durga, and Sadguru Padukas.
